“We’ve just returned from a family weekend at Lose Hill Lodge over the May bank holiday. There were 8 of us and a 7 month old. As 4 couples with three cars, there was so much to do in the area and the extra cars gave us added flexibility. The accommodation is superb and gave us everything that we needed for a great weekend. We did walks on Stanage Edge and around Castleton. It was also the Hope Cider and Beer Festival , which was walking distance from LHL, along with the bakery, the farm shop and the Spar. An excellent location to visit and an excellent property for a large family group to stay in.”

“Loved this place. We have two nervous rescue dogs and it is so hard finding the right accommodation for them. This was absolutely perfect. Easy access to a lovely secure garden and quiet walks from the door. Great for humans too! If you want a lazy time like us, there are three pubs and plenty of food choices in Hope itself, or a short walk or bus ride into Castleton. The house itself is really well laid out and the beds are so comfortable. Thank you Winston.”

“We booked another stay here at Lose Hill Lodge, and along with our whippet we decided to share this particular trip with family. The space is just great for groups and socialising, we enjoyed the garden giant games and the hot tub. We were so lucky with the weather too, absolutely gorgeous setting, sitting in the garden most mornings and evenings, listening to the birds sing. Everyone had such a great time, everyone slept really well and loved staying here as much as we do! Again 5 stars, we look forward to our next stay here… and very much whippet approved. Thank you again!”

“Travelled to Hope by train. 12 mins walk to the village from the station. 4 mins to village from the lodge, and 5 mins walk to access the most beautiful country walks. Perfect weekend”

“The space is fantastic, perfect with a dog. The living room is so nice I felt so relaxed sitting there with the doors open hearing the birds, it was idyllic. The rooms are generous and beds super comfy. The kitchen has everything you need and more. Lovely additional touches such as a hot tub, sweet treats and dog treats for our stay! We really didn’t want to leave!”

"Finished to a very high standard. Location is very convenient, and has a view of Win Hill. We went for two stunning walks, both straight from the property, which is also handy for the general store and several excellent pubs. We enjoyed a very good meal at the Cheshire Cheese. We would recommend Lose Hill Lodge to anyone."

“Had the most amazing time using Lose Hill Lodge as a base for walking/mountain biking in the peaks. Views out there are stunning. Having the hot tub to go back to was the best feeling ever! The lodge is absolutely amazing and we've used many cottages/lodges, this was so clean, well stocked with everything we could possibly need, the beds are dreamy. Our boys took their bikes as Hope pump track is a couple of minutes away on foot. We booked Hathersage outdoor swimming pool too, as only a short drive away. Would highly recommend Lose Hill Lodge for some quality family time, and have the great outdoors on your doorstep, as well some good pubs. Our kids loved they could walk to the shop around the corner. Will definitely be returning”

“Great location, well equipped, spacious and comfortable, this is a great place to stay in the Hope Valley. We were a party of 8 adults and a dog and felt comfortably accommodated. The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms were great. The hot tub was a real bonus after a day walking in the hills and proved to be a social area. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a lovely welcome package when we arrived. Winston and Kathryn were in touch all the way along to ensure that we had a good stay. I would book this property again and highly recommend it.”

"We stayed in November & had a wonderful time. We travelled as four adults & one fluffy puppy. The Lodge is in a beautiful location and has been immaculately presented. It’s placed close to pubs, restaurants, a deli & the local convenience shop is a short walk away. Every detail has been thought out whether staying in to cook, a few drinks in the hot tub or washing the puppy after a wet & muddy walk! The king size beds were so comfortable & allowed us to have a restful sleep after walking up ‘The Ridge’. Peak Cavern is a short drive away in Castleton & definitely worth a visit, along with a stop at Dolly’s Tea Room for some yummy cake. We also really enjoyed the Christmas market at Chatsworth House. We had such a great time we are already booked to go back next summer! Winston is a fabulous host & we were looked after from the moment we confirmed and all questions were answered. Thank you for the welcome bubbly & chocolate too, such a nice touch & we can’t wait to visit again."
